This interface allows the gratis dissemination of various digital artifacts, usually abstract, anti-representative, informal "artworks" prompted and made possible by the exigencies of technology: mediocre songs written in part by the architecture of samplers, digital edit-ions prompted by the possibilities inherent in stolen software, simulacra of media arising from the formalist calcification of earlier cultural texts. The Krellmachine is a site which localizes a noise in the larger man-machine apparatus that is The Internet, noise created by the specific human John Reeve, and as such involves both specific, idiosyncratic, or informal texts related to this human as well as the formalized archivization of those texts. At this site, you can find biographical information about John Reeve as well as information about his family. |
